One of AAFES' most rewarding missions is serving troops deployed in contingency operations currently in SW and central Asia. AAFES also supports unit-run imprest fund activities operated by military members located at remote locations where AAFES is not allowed to open a PX/BX.

AAFES operates in a variety of permanent structures, pre-fab buildings, trailers, tents and at times on pallets in the sand. In addition, AAFES also supports numerous mobile operations to remote locations in an effort to reach out to as many troops as possible. This allows military members who normally would not have access to a store the opportunity to enjoy a little piece of home.

AAFES contingency operations are staffed and operated by AAFES associates on a volunteer basis. They work long hard hours in austere conditions and are true heroes, serving both the military and our country. It's one of the most rewarding jobs in AAFES - just ask our volunteers.
