Transfer, Transaction Set 820 and Invoice,
Transaction Set 810 will be available to start
testing EDI version 5010.

Change of procedure
for AAFES VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) PO's and
Program
This
message is being sent to notify you of a major
change to our VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) system
that is taking place effective Monday June 22,
2009 for all inbound AAFES EDI 855 VMI PO’s.
The systemic change listed below is to adhere to our
standing VMI Policy, established Jan 2004. The
change to our system will impact the VMI PO
numbers we issue to you in our EDI 852
Product Activity transaction set that are over 30
“Calendar” days old, based on the transmission
dates you originally received them in the EDI
852 document.
Going forward, Warehouse VMI PO numbers will only
have an effective 30-day usage from
the day they are transmitted to you from AAFES.
Once they are past the 30-days from the date they
were sent out, the program will no longer accept
them back in and they will be rejected if
transmitted to AAFES.
Effective immediately, please discontinue using all
VMI PO numbers issued to your company prior to
June 1st 2009, or any PO numbers with a
numbering series less than 001240XXXX.
In addition, our VMI program will now be validating
the PO number assigned to each supplier/partner by
the PO number, AAFES internal vendor code attached
to the PO number, and the specific location that the
PO number was created for. When sending the EDI 855
VMI PO number back to AAFES, the above criteria
must match with the PO numbers you were
sent, or the system will reject the PO.

AS2 Communications Outage
AAFES will be performing maintenance on a server
that hosts our AS2 software on Wednesday, April 22nd
starting at 00:01 CDT to 12:00 CDT. This is a 12
hour outage for AS2 communications.

Oracle Retail Replenishment System
During the period 15-18 February 08, AAFES will
be cutting over to a new Oracle Retail
replenishment system. We don’t anticipate any
major disruptions to our EDI transmissions, but
please be aware of the following:

Purchase Orders:
If you normally receive EDI orders from
AAFES on Monday or Tuesday, you will not
receive a transmission on Monday, 18 Feb 08
or Tuesday, 19 Feb 08. The first
transmission following our cutover will be
on Wednesday, 20 Feb 08.

We don’t anticipate any delays in the
transmission of the 852 sales data at this
time. Should this change, it should be no
longer than 1 day late.
·
855 transmissions received before 1:00 PM
Central Time on Friday, 15 Feb 08, will be
processed as normal. 855 transmissions received
between 1:00 PM Central Time on Friday, 15 Feb
08, and 3:30 PM Central Time on Tuesday, 19 Feb
08, will not be processed until 3:30 PM Central
Time on Tuesday, 19 Feb 08.

AS2 Software Upgrade - Axway
We
are currently in the process of upgrading our AS2
software to Axway. During this time you may be
contacted to import AAFES' new profiles. This will only
affect our AS2/AS1 trading partners. If you
communicate with us through a VAN, you will not need
to make any changes.
