BEFORE YOU TELL IT TO THE IG ...

Reading and applying the following tips will help us to better assist  you; and may result in a quicker response.

Is this an issue for the AAFES IG?

AAFES has several channels for complaints / concerns which may provide faster service:

Checks, credit cards, collections, bankruptcy, etc.
Availability, pricing, or service at our stores, etc.

Items not received, wrong items received, incorrect charges, etc.

Violations of policies or procedures by management or other associates

(Applies to AAFES associates only.)  Discrimination of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, sexual orientation or status as a parent, physical or mental disabilities

If none of the above applies, or you have not had any success in getting a response, read on:

Don't expect instant action on your request ... Be patient.  Inquiries take time and IGs tend to have heavy workloads.

 

IGs are NOT policy makers.

 

IGs can only recommend, not order a resolution.  Only Commanders can order; the role of the AAFES IG is to advise the AAFES Commander.

IGs can only resolve a case on the basis of fact.  Your claim that someone has violated the rules doesn't make it fact.  A claim must be supported with evidence.

Be honest and don't provide misleading information.  IGs will discover the truth quickly in most cases and there are penalties for knowingly providing false information.

Be prepared to take "No" for the answer.  In any case "Yes" or "No", the IG will explain why.
