07-042 Scope: Worldwide The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with the Army & Air Force Exchange (AAFES), Dallas, TX, is recalling additional Soldier Bear Toy Sets manufactured by Toy Century as listed below due to high levels of lead in the surface paints used on the toy action figures and animals. Consumers should stop using the recalled products immediately. Name of the Product: “Soldier Bear” Brand- Toy Sets (styles listed below) Units: Approximately 13,000 (about 3,000 Invincibles Transport Converter Toy Sets were recalled on May 23, 2007) Importer: Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), Dallas, TX Manufacturer: Toy Century Industrial Co. Ltd. Kowloon, Hong Kong Hazard: The surface paints on the toy action figures and animals contain high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects. Incidents/Injury: None reported. DESCRIPTION: This recall involves following toy sets with various action figures, dinosaurs, animals and vehicles. The style number, Universal Product Code and Soldier Bear logo are printed on the products packaging.
The retail packages have a Soldier Bear logo on the front and back. The Toy Sets include Military Action figures, Dinosaurs and Wild Animal figures. The action figures and animals have surface coated paints on them. Sold at: AAFES stores worldwide from August 2005 through April 2007 for from $4.95 to $14.99 Manufactured in: China Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled action figures/animals from toys sets away from children. Return the recalled toy to the nearest local PX/BX AAFES stores for a full refund at the original price.
