WORLDWIDE Kraft Foods released recall stating that on February 18th their external manufacturer, Carolina Culinary Foods (CCF), had issued a recall for the Oscar Mayer/Louis Rich Chicken Breast Strips – Grilled, with a “Best When Used By” date of 19 APR 2007 because of a finding of Listeria monocytogenes in a single package. While they had no reports of listeriosis associated with the February 18th recall and have had no other findings of Listeria in their product, their investigation has led them to conclude that they should recall all of their products made at that facility as a precautionary measure. HAZARD: Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially fatal disease. Healthy people rarely contract listeriosis. However, listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea. Listeriosis can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths, as well as serious and sometimes fatal infections in those with weakened immune systems, such as infants, the elderly and persons with HIV infection or undergoing chemotherapy. ITEM DESCRIPTIONS: AAFES facilities may have carried/sold some of the following recalled Oscar Mayer/Louis Rich Chicken Breast Strips and Cuts: Effective immediately, all code dates, sizes, and flavor varieties of Oscar Mayer/Louis Rich Chicken Breast Strips and Oscar Mayer/Louis Rich Chicken Breast Cuts are being recalled. No other Oscar Mayer or Louis Rich products are impacted by this recall. Product/Variety:
