The Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) is the multi-channel retailer that serves our nations active duty military, National Guard, reservists, retirees and their families all over the world. AAFES Services and Vending program partners with businesses that offer products and services to fill niche markets. As we actively seek diverse companies, to include name brand, small, minority, women and veteran owned businesses, we understand the value and welcome the innovative solutions these enterprises bring to our global marketplace. Headquartered in the United States, Dallas, TX, AAFES’ worldwide presence has established regional headquarters in Europe, Mainz-Kastel Germany and in the Pacific, Okinawa, Japan. Throughout the world where military installations exist, so do businesses under our Services and Vending program. Our partner businesses are called Concessions and operate in AAFES provided space, primarily in our retail mall area and near other AAFES stores on the installation. Permanent concessions may have stand alone facilities strategically placed throughout the installation to meet customer demands. There are two basic options to sell through our Services and Vending program; Short Term Commodities and Long Term Concession. The Short Term Commodities program is managed by the local exchange at each military installation. The contract is administered on a temporary or roving basis, and Retail Merchandising Units (RMU) located in the retail mall area are provided to concessionaires to display and sell merchandise. Products are limited to cash and carry items only. The Long Term Concession program provides opportunities to operate permanent locations. These contracts are competitively solicited by contracting officers at the AAFES headquarters in Dallas, TX. AAFES is committed to offering opportunities that are beneficial to both our partners and our organization. Some of the benefits are there is no leasing fees or utility charges, income fees are based on gross sales, and in addition to having access to an established customer base, the marketing and promotion of your business is supported by AAFES.
