The AAFES Quality Assurance (QA) Program is one of the best in the retail industry. It provides a high-level of customer protection, in support of the AAFES mission to provide high-quality goods.

The Quality Assurance mission is to provide our customers with the highest possible level of consumer protection for the full-range of merchandise offered by AAFES worldwide. It is accomplished through four broad programs: Inspection, Supplier Quality Assistance Program (SUPQAP), Product Testing and Analysis, and Food and Drug Safety.

AAFES defines quality in terms of "fitness for use", i.e., if an item is not fit for intended use, then it is not quality item.  Anything that adversely affects appearance, serviceability, or salability of an item is considered a defect.  Safety of an item is an integral part of quality because if an item is not safe to use, it is not fit for use.
