Quality as a Business Strategy
During the past decade or so, the world has gone through a
quality revolution. Today’s consumers are more informed, more demanding, and quick to
change brands/companies if their requirements are not met on time at a price they are
willing to pay. As a result, quality is no longer a competitive edge, but is a requirement
for survival in today’s global environment.
In order to jointly meet this challenge of quality, AAFES
wishes to work with its suppliers through our Supplier Quality Assistance Program
(SUPQAP). Under this program, AAFES will focus its efforts on reviewing suppliers’
quality programs through quality audits and identifying opportunities for improvement. For
suppliers without a quality program, AAFES will help them install an inspection and test
program.
AAFES offers suppliers QA certification if they have
demonstrated good quality performance and have an effective quality system in place. The
advantages of becoming a certified supplier are reduced inspections by AAFES and the pride
that comes with recognized excellence in quality performance.

in depth. It provides the requirements for quality standards and certification by AAFES.
It also contains other useful information, including a list of mandatory product quality
requirements and a list of organizations from whom interested suppliers can obtain
additional information on quality.
