SWEET MAN WINTER This recipe is three cakes, stacked on top of each other to form a snowman, we won’t be building the snowman so we won’t be using over safe bowls or doubling the recipe but I would like to taste the cakes, it sounds very interesting. Candy cane Cake: Head of snowman (You will need to double the ingredients to make this twice)
Heat oven to 325°F. Generously grease and flour Small Round Oven safe glass Bowl. Make cake batter as directed on box. Pour about 2 cups batter into pan. Into small bowl, pour about 3/4 cup batter; stir in food color and peppermint extract. Carefully pour pink batter over white batter in pan. Carefully pour remaining white batter over pink batter. Bake for 40 min or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Turn pan upside down onto cooling rack or heatproof serving plate; remove pan. Cool cake completely, about 1 hour. Repeat with second box! Eggnog Cake: Body of snowman (You will need to double the ingredients to make this twice)
Heat oven to 350 degrees, and grease a middle sized oven safe bowl. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and brown sugar. Put eggs in a measuring cup with enough milk to make 3/4 cup; beat into dry ingredients with the shortening until smooth. Beat in remaining 2/3 cup milk and vanilla. Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 min or until toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool for 10 min in pan; remove to racks to cool completely. Repeat for second half. Pumpkin Cake: Bottom of snowman (You will need to double the ingredients to make this twice)
Heat oven to 350 degrees, and grease the largest size oven safe bowl. In a bowl, combine Yellow cake mix, eggs, and water. Beat until smooth. Add pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour into Baking bowl. Bake for 35 to 40 min or until toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool for 10 min in bowl; remove to racks to cool completely. Reapeat for second half. Your favorite buttercream or cream cheese Icing is also needed.
