Public Health and Food Safety Office
The Exchange Public Health and Food Safety Office is staffed by five military personnel who are experts in their field (three Army officers, one Army Warrant Officer, and one Air Force senior enlisted non-commissioned officer). These personnel oversee matters of public health and consumer protection related to food safety and personal services.
Our staff liaises with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and other federal, state and military agencies to ensure consumer protection, food quality and product safety. Through coordination with the U.S. Army Veterinary Service, U.S. Army Preventive Medicine and U.S. Air Force Public Health, personnel evaluate and ensure compliance with food and public health directives for over 4,000 Exchange facilities worldwide.
